Angela's Hit and Run Recovery Fund

Donation protected

Angela Landsberg, a single mother of two, was a recent victim of a traumatic hit and run car accident. The golf cart she was driving for her part-time job at Joyride, was hit from behind by a car going about 40 mph. The result of this accident is that she broke 8 bones, was hospitalized for 11 days, and will be out of work for up to 6 months.

We are asking for you to support Angela through her recovery process by donating towards her hospital bills, physical therapy and essential needs. For more details, read below:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Angela Landsberg, a single mother of two, a realtor, and a new resident to Tennessee. Being a new realtor, she ventured out into Knoxville with motivation to get to know her new hometown. However, realtors only are making money if they sell houses, which without a clientele, isn’t very easy. So, she decided to join Joyride as one of her so-called, survival jobs. The other as a caregiver. To make some money to pay for the essentials; bills, groceries, rent, etc.

Early on Sat, March 14th, around 3:45am, Angela was finishing up her shift as a Joyride driver. She had just dropped off her last customers when, seemingly out of nowhere, she, according to the police report and camera footage tracked nearby, was struck and run over by a dark black/blue sedan, in a “Hit & Run”. After impact, she was thrown from the golf cart that she was driving. She rolled onto the street about 10-15 feet from where she hit the ground, rendering her unconscious. If it wasn’t for her last Joyride customers immediately calling 911 and the good Lord above’s providence, she wouldn’t be here today.

She was then rushed to the hospital where she was admitted to the UT Medical Center ICU (Intensive Care Unit). She’s left with 8 broken bones (4 broken ribs, a double fractured wrist, a broken ankle, and a broken tail bone), plus 7 staples in her head, a concussion, a brain bleed, a hole in her right lung, and she just had surgery with 8 new metal screws and a metal plate put in her left ankle.

Angela is an amazing woman who is loved & respected by her customers, co-workers, friends and family. She has an incredibly strong work ethic, a kind heart, & is always wanting to help others in any way she can.  She is one of the most popular drivers at Joyride Knoxville. Although she was injured on the job, all drivers with Joyride are considered independent contractors, & therefore are unable to receive workers compensation. We hope the creation of this fund will help ease some of the financial burden she faces from the accident & the current COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

It’s difficult to imagine, that in one night, she almost lost her life. She can’t walk and function independently, she’ll be out of work for at least 6 months, and must have physical and occupational therapy in order to start getting back on her feet, literally.  Although Angela has lots of friends and family that care about her & will work diligently to help her make it through this radically, devastating time, she’s still in need of financial help in order to provide for herself & her 2 children. If you are unable to give, we would appreciate you share this GoFundMe with your community, spreading the word to help find the driver who hit her. Nobody should be able to get away with something like this. Let’s walk in love with people and come together as a community to spread awareness against hit & runs, and to give Angela hope for her future in recovery.
