Hello everyone, I was involved in a motorcycle wreck on July 22. Where I was rear ended by a non licensed driver and thrown off my bike sustaining a severe Traumatic Brain Injury and a fractured C2 vertebrae. I had surgery to repair my fracture and decompression of my spinal cord on July 23. I was in Memorial Herman and TIRR for a month recovering. Since leaving the hospital I’ve been involved in intensive therapy at TIRR in the Woodlands. This has drained my savings and the funds my friends in the community raised for me during a benefit. At this time, I’m on Cobra so as not to lose the insurance that has been paying a 100 % of my medical, and of course it is expensive, but worth every penny. I could use a little help from my friends. I’m working with TIRR in their challenge program to get me back to work, but it is taking some time, and with my injury I may never go back to floor nursing again. My motto these past couple of years has been Adapt and Adjust, the words I use to help my patients in their rehabilitation. Now it’s time for me to Adapt and Adjust and I appreciate any amount you can spare to help me continue to pay for my treatment. May God Bless you as he has blessed me with the gift of life.
