Hi my name is Angela. My dear friends Scott Schaffer and Alyssa Rocco are helping me raise funds to help pay for medical expenses while in treatment for breast cancer.
I have recently been diagnosed with TNBC breast cancer. For those of you who didn’t know; don’t worry, I am OK and optimistic for a really bright outcome. My hospital care is at St. John’s in Santa Monica and the protocol is six chemo treatments followed by a lumpectomy in my right breast, followed by radiation. The whole process should take about a year. Even though I feel good right now my first chemo is on Wednesday, May 24 at 9 AM and I’m not sure how I’m gonna feel after that so I thought I would post this little note before my first treatment. Even though I am covered by health insurance, there are so many expenses that are not covered. Just this month I have spent over $1500 in medical expenses. For those of you who know me well, you know that for me, the idea of chemo is like an assault on the body. Believe me, I have researched high and low for an alternative. But after much research and consideration, I have come to the conclusion that the chemo is a necessary evil. I owe many thanks to the wonderful and brave people, men and women; friends, and friends of friends, who have generously shared their own cancer experience, having gone through the same thing, or similar. Thanks to their testimonies, I know that I will come through. The problem with chemotherapy is it not only attacks the cancer cells but it attacks healthy cells as well. To combat its effects, I have been recommended by medical professionals certain supplements and holistic treatments that will greatly aid in the process of healing. I want to give my immune system its best shot at healing by incorporating these supplements and natural immunotherapy. Some of these treatments are a little pricey, but I do believe that they will support my healing, ease the journey, and also put a hedge against cancer recurrence. I seriously cannot imagine going through this more than once!Thank you so much for reading this message. Your prayers and support are greatly appreciated. I will post updates on here as often as I can depending on how I feel. Please leave comments, I read them over and over, and feel free to spread the love.
