Angela Bindel proudly served as a corrections officer at Lansing Correctional Facility starting in 2013. She was deeply dedicated to her work; even after breaking her foot during the 2020 inmate riots, she still showed up because the prison was so severely understaffed. Angela didn’t chase criminals on the outside, instead, she carried out the tough and often thankless job of keeping order on the inside — protecting her fellow officers, watching over inmates, and maintaining safety where few others would go.
Angela was known for her big personality and an even bigger voice, she truly didn’t know how to whisper! But behind that strength was a mother who deeply loved her two daughters, the center of her world.
In November 2021, Angela was attacked by an inmate and suffered a traumatic brain injury that forever changed her life. After years of decline, she passed away on September 9, 2025, leaving behind her daughters, ages 17 and 28.
We are raising funds to help cover her final expenses and to provide support for her daughters during this heartbreaking time. Any contribution will help bring them stability and ensure Angela’s legacy is honored.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity.
