Angel With Paws For Diego

As a single mother of 2,  I am currently trying to raise money to help fund a seizure assistance dog and to help with medical bills for my son who has epilepsy.

He started having seizures early 2020. Which came as a shock to all of us because he never showed signs and I had no prior knowledge of any family members with this medical history.
It's been a challenging road since this all began because I had no knowledge on what to do or where to start. At first I didn’t know how to handle the situation so I resorted to calling medical emergency services.
I've gone from doctor to doctor with referrals for a CT scan, MRI tests and to see a neurologist. With this ongoing pandemic, it's been tough getting appointments,
and bills have just been pilling up.

Finally Diego, was diagnosed with generalized tonic clonic seizures and absence seizures. These seizures are some of the worst because they affect the whole brain at once.
Since the beginning, my sons seizures have been more consistent and more aggressive. I rush him to the hospital every time and their solution is always to increase his medication.
I feel very helpless.

Recently Diego was walking up the stairs and had a seizure, luckily I was close enough to run up and catch him before he fell. I can't even begin to imagine what could have happened had I not been there, as a mother I’m always worried, and it’s been difficult trying to watch him and look for work.
Unfortunately, Diego is still very unaware of when his seizures could occur and this is why we are searching for other alternatives, such as a seizure service dog, to aid his current situation.
This dog will give me an extra set of eyes and ears to watch out for him as well as give him back his sense of independence which is important for everyone, especially a growing boy that was just beginning to enjoy His independence. Knowing that he has an angel to alert him when he is going to have a seizure will help him gain it back.

I'm not always in his immediate area or able to react quickly enough to help when he is having seizures.

The price for these trained and qualified alert service dogs are well beyond my budget, this is why I'm asking for your generosity in this time of need.
Any donations made is greatly appreciated and will all go towards Diego's long term care. I thank you from the bottom of my heart, God Bless!
