Angel the pug memorial fund

On 7/27/18 Angel fell off of a bench at the vet's office.  She had a seizure right away.  At first, we thought the fall caused the seizure, but after seeing a neurologist, we found out that Angel has a mass on her brain.  The CTscan, MRI, and spinal tap were inconclusive, which is typical with a brain injury.  In order to diagnose her definitively, she needs a brain biopsy.  The only place that performs them is Texas A&M school of veterinarians, and that's all the way in College Station.  For now, we've spent roughly $4500 just for the diagnostic testing,  and I made the decision to have the vet start her on a round of chemotherapy in hopes that the mass is encephalitis, and not a tumor.  She will need further testing and treatments, which I am willing to do.  I had a few friends express that they wanted me to set up a page so that they can give back to the dog that gives so much. Background about Angel: Angel, who is 5 years old now, was adopted after being found on the street.  She was lactating, had heartworms, and was emaciated from a really rough first 2 years.  I adopted her knowing that she needed someone that was going to give her the fighting chance she deserved.  After 6 months of treatment, Angel was heartworm free and gaining weight.  She has a beautiful spirit, and is very intelligent, so training her to become my service dog was easy. Like a lot of Army veterans, I suffer from PTSD. She followed me to class and work everyday.  What I didn't expect was for her touch so many other people's lives as well.  She has a sense of empathy that most humans lack.  She not only helped with my PTSD, but would sense when anyone around me was suffering.  It is hard to have a bad day after looking into her eyes.  She has helped me through a dark time in my life, and I want to give her a fighting chance at hers.  If her donations exceed her veterinarian needs, I will be donating the remainder of the funds to my local animal shelter. I love all of you.  Even if you cannot give a monetary gift, a kind message is appreciated.  Angel's Mom & best friend, Linda Update: 8/21/2018 At around 1230 this morning, I got the call that Angel went into cardiac arrest. They tried to revive her, but her heart just couldn't take anymore. She was so weak from the treatments and the tumor, and her little body just couldn't take anymore. If you still want to give, all proceeds will go towards Angel's existing bills and anything more will go towards other dogs in need. I have a huge hole in my heart right now, and I am so sorry for all of you who loved her too. I know that your heart is hurting too, because nobody could be around her longer than 2 seconds and not fall in love. Thank you, everyone, for standing by me this last few weeks. You have no idea how much that means to me. RIP Angel. Go play with your brother, Smokey.
