Angel & Miley - Little Paws Rescue Journey

Meet Angel & Miley, two golden doodles rescued on May 24th from a heartbreaking & neglectful situation. When we found them, their fur was severely matted, their spirits broken, & they were terrified of the world around them. These innocent girls had gone far too long without the care, love, & attention every dog deserves. What they endured was unimaginable & nearly cost them their lives.

Just the other day, Angel & Miley laid on a bed for the very first time & finally experienced a bit of comfort. I had to gently place them on it, as they didn’t understand what it was for. Within seconds, they both melted into a deep, peaceful sleep, the kind of rest that only comes when you finally feel safe. It was beautiful & heartbreaking.

We took them to be groomed yesterday & as we feared, underneath all that fur were skin & bones. Signs of serious neglect & starvation.

Angel is still incredibly shy & spends most of her time hiding, while Miley is more weary than fearful, but curious. Watching them slowly learn what love feels like has been a reminder of how strong animals are & how much they need us.

Our family has stepped in to give them the second chance they should have had from the very beginning: a warm, safe, & loving home. While this journey is just beginning, the cost of helping them heal physically and emotionally is growing & we can’t do this alone.
