Thank you all for reading our story. I've been sharing our story over the past couple of weeks, and unfortunately today it has reached the lowest of the lows.
My daughter's father Angel Jr. recently underwent a major surgery for stage 3 cancer. My daughter and I visited him during his recovery and spent 2 weeks taking care of him, talking, laughing and just spending quality time with him. We had a great time, and we are very grateful that we were fortunate enough to have that time with him and his parents in October.
During November and December, he completed a six week course of chemotherapy and radiation. A week later he contracted COVID and was too weak from the cancer surgery and treatments to survive it. He died of multiple organ system failure due to COVID. He was only 47. Angel Jr. leaves behind his only daughter Summer, his mother Sonia, his father Angel Sr., his brother Peter, his sister in law Marylin, and his nephew PJ.
12 days later, today, on the same day as Angel Jr's funeral, his mother Sonia died of COVID too. She was only 66. Her funeral will be on Tuesday. Sonia leaves behind her husband Angel Sr., her son Peter, daughter in law Marylin, grandson PJ and granddaughter Summer.
The entire family is devastated. How do you process two funerals in one week?
