Hi, my name's Angel. I am raising funds for my thyroid surgery. About six months ago, my doctor found a suspicious lump in my neck. I was sent to get an ultrasound. The ultrasound revealed I had a nodule the size of a kiwi, around 3.1 cm. My doctor then referred me to get a fine needle biopsy. My biopsy came back with a high chance of it being cancerous, 40-60 percent. I was then sent to a specialist who said the next course of action is surgery to remove half of my thyroid and send it to pathology to figure out if it was cancerous and if I need further treatment. Currently I struggle with swallowing and live with pain I constantly feel like I have to throw up due to pressure on my throat. After surgery I will be out of work for about two weeks recovering.
My surgeon's cost with insurance is $870, and BayCare estimates my surgery will be $3,000 or more.
My truck broke down, and my dad and I have been sharing cars. He bikes to work in the morning, and I take the car. Then he bikes to my job after work, takes the car to go do overtime or work a second job. I'll either Uber home, or if he's working by me, he'll pick me up. He works incredibly hard, and all of this is adding up and it’s incredibly stressful. I just want to help him; he's done everything for me and works so, so hard. It’s just a lot of expenses all at the same time. Thank you for any donations they are greatly appreciated.
