Mi nombre es Serena Jiménez Tapia, y
hoy escribo desde el corazón de una
madre,
que atraviesa un dolor inmenso.
Hace solo una semana supimos que mi
hijo, Angel Gabriel Carrasco Jiménez,
había fallecido… pero su cuerpo llevaba
más de 8 meses sin ser reclamado en
Nueva York, mientras nosotros seguíamos esperándolo.
Angel Gabriel (Gaby) tenía solo 24 años.
Era un joven lleno de talento, creatividad y una sonrisa que iluminaba cualquier
espacio. Estaba lleno de deseos de ver el mundo aunque enfrento dificultades
que lo alejaron de sus sueños, jamás dejó de ser un
hijo amado, un hermano amoroso y un
ser profundamente humano. Lleno de luz con mucho para dar .
Nunca perdimos la esperanza de que volviera al seno de su hogar.
Hoy, su cuerpo sigue lejos de su tierra, y lo único que deseamos es traerlo de
regreso a Puerto Rico con la gente que lo amo y lo ama para poder despedirlo con
dignidad, amor y paz.
Dónde su historia debe cerrarse con amor y no con abandono.

Esta cantidad es imposible de cubrir sin ayuda, pero creemos en la fuerza de la solidaridad.

My name is Serena Jiménez Tapia, and today I write from the heart of a grieving mother facing unimaginable pain.
Just one week ago, we received the devastating news that my son, Angel Gabriel Carrasco Jiménez, had passed away… but his body had been unclaimed in New York for more than eight months, while we continued to wait for him in hope.
Angel Gabriel (Gaby) was only 24 years old. He was a young man full of talent, creativity, and a smile that could light up any room. He dreamed of seeing the world, and although he faced hardships that distanced him from his goals, he never stopped being a beloved son, a loving brother, and a deeply human soul—full of light, with so much to give. We never lost hope that he would return to the warmth of his home.
Today, his body still remains far from his homeland, and all we want is to bring him back to Puerto Rico, to the people who loved—and still love—him, so that we may say goodbye with dignity, love, and peace. His story deserves to close with love, not abandonment.

A family ceremony and final resting place
