Angama Foundation: In Honor of Valerie Schoeck

We are raising money in honor of our beloved Valerie, whose lifelong love for animals shaped so much of who she was. She spent her entire life with a deep love and interest in animals of all types, and she had always looked forward to experiencing a safari and seeing wildlife in their natural home.

Valerie and Ross had planned to go on safari in Africa for their honeymoon next summer, with a stay at Angama Mara. In her memory, we are directing support to the Angama Foundation, whose work strengthens wildlife conservation, community initiatives, and long term stewardship of the Masai Mara. Contributions made here will be sent directly to the foundation and applied to its ongoing projects across the region.

After learning of Valerie’s passing, Angama shared with her family that they will be planting a tree for her in their Garden of Remembrance at Angama Mara, the place she was so looking forward to visiting with Ross. The Schoeck and Barlow families plan to travel there in the future to honor her life and visit her in the Garden.

We are not aiming for any specific amount. Any contribution in Valerie’s honor is meaningful.
