Anemoia is a BA Capstone Film project created by Alexas Rylan Bradley.
Anemoia specifically aims to highlight the experience of coping with a panic disorder and the nature of the ensuing struggles that follow maladaptive daydreaming. Rather than the usual melancholic or horror-packed films relating to anxiety and panic attacks, the film's overall tone works to uplift and provide a sense of comfort for others who may have lived through similar experiences.
Hi! My name is Alexas Rylan Bradley, I’m a senior VMA student at Emerson College, and Anemoia is my senior thesis film.
I chose to make this project to spread awareness about living and coping with a mental illness that strongly affects everyday life. My perspective on this topic comes from my personal experience living with a panic disorder and the various coping mechanisms I’ve engaged with, especially maladaptive daydreaming.
While many films display depictions of panic attacks, very rarely do they dive into the experience of living with a panic disorder, where your body blatantly turns against you, sometimes without any preamble or reason. So, this film is meant to create solace for others who struggle with these things. A lot of people just need someone to tell them that they're going to be okay, and this film is meant to say that.
Funds raised will be used towards food, transportation costs, production design, shoot locations, and more. Thank you for your consideration and support!
