Hi! My name is Andy Touhey and a student at Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA.
I am creating this GoFundMe page to get assistance with my education. You see, I was raised by my mom and brother, a good family support system, spent alot of time at the Kirkland Boys and Girls Club and graduated with Honors from Juanita High School.
I grew up playing soccer for over 15 years and it was a passion, so much so that it was what I wanted do professionally once I graduated high school. I worked hard at it and I know it cost alot. My mom and brother sacrificed alot both financially and time wise so I could pursue my dream.
I worked summers for the Boys and Girls club as camp counselor, I worked this past summer at Evergreen Hospital.
Now, reality has hit and in all honesty, it kinda sucks!
I am a sophomore at Gonzaga. During this past year and a half I have participated in intramural sports, ministerial groups, campus clubs, I work part time at 2nd Harvest to supplement my education. I have attended retreats and training seassions to lead others. I'm proud to say I am a CLC (Christian Living Community) leader at Gonzaga and would love to continue to make a difference in my life and the life of others.
I am trying to raise money to supplement my education. In this past year and a half, I have been very fortunate to obtain scholarships and some loans to pay the cost of my education, and I continue to apply for scholarships, its just I can't get anymore loans to complete my sophomore year. My mom and family can no longer assist me so I am reaching out to you; my family; friends; peers and acquaintences for help.
Time is running short, I have a deadline of December 12, 2016 to raise $6K so I can continue on. Your help would mean the world to me so I can continue my dream. I am majoring in Human Physiology, with a dream to empower the human spirit bothe physically, mentally and spiritually.
I want to thank you for reading my story, although short due to space, and ask that you prayerfully consider helping me out in whatever way your heart sees fit.
