Andy Tillman Memorial Fund
Donation protected
On February 28, 2022, Andy Tillman, Follower of Jesus, suffered a bilateral stroke and was called to heaven to be with his mom and dad. He had been in the hospital for pneumonia and a heart attack, and he seemed to be recovering well, but God had other plans. He leaves behind his wife Lynette and their three children: Marisa, Josiah, and Lia. This fund has been created to assist the grieving family with the cost of the funeral, the memorials, and Lynette's moving expenses. If our goal is reached, any leftover funds will be used to support the Tillmans and in Andy's memory.

Andy was born in Tagbilaran City, Bohol, Philippines on September 24, 1965 to his missionary parents Gus and Mary Tillman. He grew up in the Philippines and graduated high school at Faith Academy in Manila before attending Bethel College in Minnesota, USA. He went on to receive a Master's of Divinity from Bethel Seminary. Andy and Lynette were married in 1990 and were called to the Philippines as missionaries in 1992. Andy loved Jesus and cared for people in an awe-inspiring Christ-like way. Using his technical expertise behind the camera and in the sound booth, he helped pioneer Filipino-led missions to promote literacy, bible translation, spreading the Good News, and caring for the less fortunate. Those who knew him well knew of his talent for meeting people where they were and caring for them in the exact way they needed. Nowhere is this more evident than in the way he related to students in his teaching and coaching. His desire to see people succeed and reach their full potential impacted every student that met him. He prioritized God's Story in His mission to make Jesus accessible to all peoples, regardless of background. Andy had a deep love for the Philippines and the Filipino people. Even when he had to leave the Philippines unexpectedly and move his family back to the United States, he refused to stay in America long. He quickly found another way back to the Philippines that aligned with his radical love and passion for helping others.
My dad was the closest I've ever seen someone get to perfect. I am so lucky to be able to call him Ama. He always made time for me and my sisters, whether it be in sports, our studies, our faith, or even our relationships. He cared so deeply for each of us and strove daily to be a good example and to provide for his family. There was a quiet focus when he listened to me or to anyone. I had the privilege of knowing that I could bring anything to my dad-- he was an amazing listener, gave insightful advice, and loved us more than anything in the world. Whenever we were wrapping up our weekly family call, he would tell us he loved us and ask us to be good for Jesus. My mom, Marisa, Lia and I will miss him and will never stop missing him. He was taken too soon.
These funds will be used to pay for the funeral and the memorial services, to help relieve Lynette's moving costs, and to serve as a donation box for those looking to support the Tillman family during this shocking and saddening time.
