Andy's...Journey to a Healthy Heart

Hello, my name is Andrew Brätt and I am Andrew “Andy” Quan’s best friend of 40+ years. I set up this fundraiser to help Andy with the cost of impending heart surgery. A little background on Andy’s heart issue is that he was born a “blue baby.” Grow, by WebMD defines blue baby syndrome as: “blue baby syndrome is typically caused by abnormalities in the heart, lungs or blood.” Due to being born a blue baby, in which the skin color has a blue or purple tinge, Andy had open-heart surgery as a child. Decades later, a “fixed” valve was not repaired in the terms of today’s standards and has all but failed and caused other issues with his heart including congestive heart failure. He has already had one recent stay in the hospital to stabilize his condition so he could have surgery for an artificial valve to be put in. Andy is a self-employed freelancer and as of today has only had a few jobs this year, he is looking to help pay the cost of the additional medical expenses and his living expenses during his recovery period.
