My name is Karen Stanley Grigg.
Andy Masters is an old friend of mine—we go all the way back to high school. Many of you may remember Andy as a talented artist and a fixture in the Norfolk and Richmond music scenes. He has had a number of medical setbacks over the past few years. Currently, he is in the hospital and won't be able to stay much longer.
Unfortunately, in order to be able to continue living independently, he needs medical equipment that his insurance will not cover and which, due to living on disability, he cannot afford. What he needs to purchase is either a high-low hospital bed or an extra-wide, bariatric lift chair that can also be used as a bed. This will cost around $1800. In addition, he has bills with shut-off notices piling up, so I have set the goal for $3,000 to help him catch up on bills.
Andy wishes to live independently for many reasons, but namely so he does not have to give up his beloved kitties, who have been companions to each other for 8 years. If he cannot purchase this equipment, he will be forced into a low-rated nursing home. He is about to be forced out of the hospital now and needs this equipment as soon as possible.
Please consider helping—thank you.
