Fundraising For Hope in Andy's Memory

As we approach the one year anniversary of losing Andy, I wanted to do something big in his name as a way of reminding those who love him that he is still with us.

This year, I'd like to raise money for Campaign Against Living Miserably - a charity striving to make a stand against suicide. Each week in the UK, 125 people take their own lives. And in the third week of May in 2024, Andy was one of those people.

Perhaps we're not able to save every single person we want to, but I know for a fact that we are able to save some. I couldn't save Andy. I will hate that fact every day of my life, but maybe there's someone else along my path that I will be able to help. Maybe Andy's story and the fight he left behind is something each of us can use to help someone else.

Our donations and contributions raised will go towards an incredible charity that provides resources to people all over the UK struggling with their mental health like Andy was. These can include guidance and information, practical and effective tools, and valuable helplines which are a key asset in suicide prevention. CALM exists to offer these life-saving services and initiate and provoke conversations around mental health (and it is proven that talking about suicide is suicide prevention).

Our GoFundMe last year after Andy's passing raised an incredible £3300 - truly an achievement beyond what any of us could have imagined. Because of your generosity, we were able to cover his funeral expenses and help his immediate family in the pinnacle of their grief.

As we hold all this love for Andy, I'd like to ask that you join us in our fundraiser and donate to CALM as a gesture of goodness in his name. I've set the target goal for £1505 in note to 15/05/24 which is the day we lost him. 100% of the money raised will be donated to CALM under Andy's name.

Any amount, however small, will be tremendously appreciated by us, as well as the countless other lives it will go on to impact. We couldn't save Andy, but we can save others from the same ending. I truly hope you'll help us in being a part of that.
