Anyone who knows Andy Velez knows of his life of epic generosity.
For more than three decades, Andy has been on the front lines of AIDS, Latinx and queer activism as an educator, a protestor, an agent for change. He has proved that one person can make a huge difference.
On March 9th, Andy Velez will mark his 80th birthday. This is a cause for celebration and we are all grateful. But it’s a bittersweet time, because Andy is coping with Parkinson’s and it has severely changed his life.
He must take many medications and see many doctors. The ravages of this disease have eaten through his savings. So many of us have Andy to thank for so much, for he has enriched our lives through his work as a therapist, publisher, educator and activist.
For Andy’s 80th birthday, we are asking you to make a gift of a contribution through GoFundMe to help Andy Velez through the toughest challenge of his life.
