Andy The Goose Bronze Statue

You're invited to help invest in a piece of art that stands for all the good Andy the Goose brought to a community, a nation, and the world. It's time for a happy ending and a happy remembering of an adorable shoe wearing footless goose.

Andy the Goose hatched without feet at my Great Aunt's farm in Harvard, Nebraska. One day in 1988, my Grandpa Gene saw the goose for the first time as it struggled to cross a gravel road. He was compelled to help and brought Andy to our home outside Hastings, Nebraska.

Gene Fleming, an inventor, fit the goose with baby shoes he modified that helped Andy walk and swim. This kind act captured the hearts of all who met Andy and all who saw him featured in local papers, major publications around the world, and network TV (like the Johnny Carson show). Andy the Goose became a symbol of hope for so many.

This statue will stand for what Andy the Goose championed - kindness, hope, invention, and helping others. Let the children laugh and play and be inspired again by Andy the Goose.

Andy's story may have been cut short, but we can commemorate and ignite his message again through art.

Ideally this statue will be placed in the community that first celebrated Andy, in Hastings, Nebraska. When a statue location is set this story will be updated. The statue will be 10% larger than a life size goose with a pose much like that of the banner photo and an artist has been chosen. Money raised will go to the art commission, base construction, delivery, and installation costs.

If we go over the fundraising goal, those funds will be put toward additional promotion and projects relating to Andy the Goose.
