Since the start of the full scale war in Ukraine 3 years ago, Andy has been staying informed by listening daily to the English podcast, Ukraine: The Latest by The Telegraph. He learned about a group of volunteers that work to provide assistance to Ukraine. The Volunteer Ambulance Corps is one of these programs. After 11 successful missions, they have delivered nearly 300 ambulances and emergency vehicles. The average life-span of an ambulance on the front lines is 4-6 weeks.
Lakefront Brewery, in Milwaukee, is an active supporter of this cause. They launched the beer label "Putin is a Dick" to raise funds to help purchase ambulances and emergency vehicles. On February 7, the founder of Ukraine Focus visited the brewery to share insight of the mission and to thank Lakefront for their support. We attended this event and discovered that their next mission would be taking place the same time we were already planning a trip to Germany. After extensive research and discussion, we felt called to extend a helping hand. This March, we'll be driving ambulances from Rzeszów, Poland to Kyiv, Ukraine as part of Mission #12, supporting Ukraine Focus, a U.S.-registered nonprofit providing critical aid to communities affected by the war.
Why It Matters
The war in Ukraine continues to devastate lives. This isn’t just about delivering ambulances—it’s about getting life-saving equipment and support to those who need it most. It’s a way to show solidarity and take action, proving that small efforts, when combined, can have a real, tangible impact.
Where Your Donations Go
• Ambulance Prep – Equipping the vehicle for the mission ahead.
• Logistics – Covering transport, tolls, fuel to Kyiv, and registration costs.
• Ongoing Support – Any remaining funds go directly to Ukraine Focus to continue their vital work.
This mission is simple: get help where it’s needed, fast. We'll be sharing updates on Facebook along the way so you can see the direct impact of your support.
If you can donate, share this campaign, or just follow the journey—it all helps. Thank you.
