On May 15, 2018, just a short month ago and a few weeks away from his high school graduation, Andrew "Andy" Hernandez took his own Life. Andrew had been nicknamed “BFG” (Big Friendly Giant) by his friends.  He was a patient, loving, resilient and caring young man.  Andy was an “old soul” that offered his friendship, love, sense of humor and kindness to everyone and anyone who crossed his path.

Family, coaches, friends, teammates and co-workers were blindsided by his decision to end his pain through suicide.  We, his parents, understand all too well, the deep sense of guilt and stigma that can keep a family impacted by suicide in isolation and shame.  We have decided not to let Andrew's life and death be in vain. We have made a promise in honor of Andrew's life to continue his legacy of kindness and compassion. 

Andrew’s life connected many people and his death created a momentum of unity and commitment to our youth. Our goal is to raise $52,000 in honor of #52 which Andrew wore so proudly Senior year for his high school football team. Your financial support will help make several things possible including the building of a non-profit which promises to give young people tangible skills which will assist them in overcoming life's challenges and enable them to thrive and succeed. With time, the organization will be self-sustainable however, we need your help to get it off the ground.
