Andy Bailey medical fund

Andy is 25 years old, lives with his wife, Katie, in Canton, MS.   Andy is the son of Jeff Bailey and Shannon Longgrear Bailey, and the grandson of Kay and Ducky Longgrear.  He is self-employed as a landscaper.   He was recently diagnosed as having a fistula (hole) in his esophagus, as well as a mass in his chest that is attached to his esophagus and pressing on his lung.   This condition causes Andy to cough almost constantly and makes swallowing very difficult.  He cannot eat solid food, and anything he ingests creates the possibility of leakage from his esophagus, which is life-threatening.  Surgery has been prescribed by his doctor:  esophagoscopy, right thoracotomy, esophageal duplication, cyst removal, possible esophagatomy.   Basically, remove the mass and repair the fistula (hole).  Depending on what happens during surgery, he may have to have a by-pass of his esophagus, which will most likely be temporary until the esophagus heals.   The surgery is risky - there is still some unknown and the surgeon may find more complications once he gets in.  There has not been a biopsy yet, either.

Andy and Katy are young, and their resources are very limited.  They each ask for prayers and for any financial assistance you may find in your heart to provide.  Their household will need to be maintained while Andy is off work, and Katy's salary is simply not sufficient to do that.  There will also be a lot of medical bills, as well as travel, meals, etc. while Andy is hospitalized and recovering.
