Andres's (Andy) Journey to Recovery
Donation protected
On February 22, 2024, Andres (Andy) Aguirre was admitted into a hospital with flu-like symptoms, pneumonia, and a UTI. His body was only getting about 60% oxygen intake at the time. He needed blood in his vital organs. As a result, Andy currently has Thrombosis which is clots within blood vessels that limit the flow of blood to his lungs and body. Side effect damage occurred in his fingers, toes, and he now has three clots in his lungs. Doctors have not ruled out amputation of some limbs as necrosis set in Andy's right hand and left foot. As of now, Andy has not had any amputations and his limbs are being monitored for recovery. Unfortunately, Andy has to wait until his lungs are stronger with more oxygen and until he's off of blood thinners, before any surgery can take place.
Despite all this, doctors continue to be impressed by Andy's strength and recovery. He was released from the hospital on March 20, 2024 and is currently in recovery at his girlfriend's residence in Newport Beach. During this first month, Andy needs to get stronger and doctors will monitor if the Necrosis will stop and heal. Andy is in a lot of pain due to the necrosis. He's currently on prednisone medication which impacts his ability to sleep. All funds raised from this page will go to Andy's recovery process. Everything from much needed physical therapy equipment to everyday expenses and his pending medical bills.
Andy's recovery time frame is currently estimated between 6-12 months. Unfortunately, Andy may not be able to continue working during this time. Consequently, Andy was also in the midst of child custody court hearings for his 12-year-old daughter Isabela. His current health seriously impacts Andy's ability to be able to care for Isabela and Andy's inability to appear in court may impact any judgement regarding the case outcome.
Anyone who knows Andy, knows him to be an extremely driven, charismatic, and genuine person. Andy was pursuing his pilot's license; he was flying frequently and was scheduled to graduate in June 2024. Andy has always liked fitness and the gym. He had been bodybuilding and continued his gym regiment diligently. On a creative note, Andy recently also got into making scented candles.
Andy's life is not the only one that has been changed dramatically. Andy's mother, Rita, has been a constant source of support and love at Andy's side. Rita has been by Andy's side since the beginning and continues to help Andy by sorting out his finances, residence, court proceedings, etc. It is our goal that we raise enough funds so Andy can continue to cover his medical expenses, food, bills, travel, recovery process, as well as continue to provide for his daughter. Any small donation amount can help our goal to help Andres fully recover.
