Hello friends and family,
Our dear friend and brother Andy Boswell is currently in critical condition with liver and kidney failure at the Stanford Medical Center in Palo Alto, California. He was admitted on July 22nd, and it has been a day-to-day struggle for the amazing team of doctors and nurses to stabilize, and treat him. He has undergone several treatments, and is currently going through dialysis, with around-the-clock care. Providing his condition does not deteriorate, the current prognosis is that he will be staying at Stanford for the next 2-3 weeks for continual care, until he is well enough to be transferred to a skilled nursing facility, where he will continue dialysis treatments for his kidneys, and undergo extensive physical therapy.
The last few weeks have been an emotional battle battle for all of us that have been aware of the situation, but none more so than for his love, Tara. Andy has no family in Northern California, which has put Tara in the predicament of being the only person available to deal with all of this. As a result, Tara has had to take substantial amount of time off of work to not only be there for Andy, but to be his sole representation with the hospital, and insurance company. She is doing this all, while trying to hang on to her hope, and be there for her daughter, which under the circumstances is no easy feat.
Asking for help is no easy task, but Tara needs us to be there for her, like she is for Andy. Without being able to work, the cost of living, the cost of the hour plus drive to the hospital every day, even the cost of food is starting to take its toll. The last 2 weeks have been an emotional struggle, but we have hope that in the end, Andy will pull through, watch another sunset, tell some bad jokes, laugh, and live. However, right now, the path is rough, and any amount you can contribute will greatly help to lighten the burden.
