Hi! My name is Isabelle Oktay, I’m a senior studying computer science and creative writing at NYU, and I go by the artist name Sibel. Currently, we are fundraising a music video for Andromeda Sinned, a song that I wrote. Loosely based on the ancient Greek myth of Andromeda and Cassiopeia, Andromeda Sinned is the first song I ever finished producing. The song is heavily inspired by the breathy arrangements of artists like Lana Del Rey and Beach House and by the poetry of Sylvia Plath. This is a song about teenagehood and heartbreak. It’s a song about never knowing quite who you are. It’s a song about wanting to make the mistakes that your parents told you not to, yet not being brave enough to wander off the beaten path.

While I study computer science, I also have a passion for music.
