We are family and friends of Andrew Golez and we fondly call him Doods since
childhood.  Andrew, his wife Charisma and their son ,
Andrew 2.0, live in Cerritos,
California.  He has been battling
debilitating health issues through the years including cancer.  At present, he suffers
from congestive heart failure, with failing
kidneys and liver due to the side effects of chemotherapy.   He has had two past
surgeries related to his heart condition
done in 2018 and 2019. Due to his failing
organs, Andrew would be admitted to the
hospital several times in a year and has had other procedures done like thoracentesis
and paracentesis to alleviate his symptoms.

Right now,  he is trying to get into a
program for a heart transplant. He has not been able to work for the past three years due to his medical condition.  His wife
Charisma, who works full time to support
the family, was laid off today, Feb 6th.
Family and friends have been praying
for him and his family as they go through
this difficult situation.

Due to these severe circumstances of
critical health and medical needs, coupled
with the untimely loss of employment and
insurance coverage, the family will need to shoulder all medical expenses including
what Charisma’s health insurance used to
cover.  For this reason, we are raising these funds for Andrew’s medical bills and
support for the family as well.  We are
grateful for any support that you can share to help Andrew and his family go through
this valley sustained with courage,
endurance and strength.  Our Hope
remains  fixed upon the Lord Who is
perfect in His wisdom and love.  As Andrew posted today, "When you find out rock
bottom has an even lower layer...God, it's in Your Hands."

Feb. 6, 2020 ( letter from Andrew)
Hi everyone! Long time no update. I
honestly didn't think I would have to do another one for an even longer time.

I wasn't going to send one out anymore but because of my post this morning plus the
recent developments in my health I felt
compelled to do so.

I went to see my doctor 3 weeks ago and
was told that my kidneys are turning for
the worse. My heart is getting so weak that it's affecting my kidney function. The
doctor is giving it 6-weeks to see if I need
dialysis or not. If dialysis is in play, I would
have to decide on what I will do. Due to my heart condition it may not be a great
solution. It would buy me some time but
the quality of life might not be there. It will be a decision that I would have to make.

It's so crazy because as I was thinking
about my own mortality, I hear the news
about Kobe Bryant. It just shows me that it doesn't take a bad heart or kidneys to leave this Earth. It's a reaffirmation that life is
not guaranteed and we should always
make the most of it.

Fast forward to today...... Charisma got
notice that she was being laid off. I'm at a
loss for words. She's the source of my
insurance and our only source of income at this time.

Please keep us in your prayers as we need
it more than ever.

I have faith that there's a reason for
everything.

Thank you for all the love and support that you've shown me throughout the years.

I will provide another update when I am
able to.

Until the next one.

DG
