Andrew’s Fight - Down With Disease

Many of you may have already heard, but for those that do not know yet, my brother Andrew has been diagnosed with Metastatic HER2 Negative GEJ Adenocarcinoma. This was discovered back in February 2023 after his blood levels dropped significantly and he was hospitalized for a week as doctors tried to get some internal bleeding under control. Since this initial hospitalization he has undergone radiation therapy and five rounds of aggressive chemotherapy. Thankfully his most recent scans have shown a reduction in the size of the tumor in the GEJ and a reduction in the size of the lesions on his liver.

We still have a long way to go in this battle which is why we have opened up this GoFundMe so our community can help support him and his family as they go into the next phase of treatments. In the upcoming months he will be traveling to Duke frequently to meet with their oncology specialists and ramp up an aggressive treatment plan. Obviously this will result in travel expenses, additional time off work for both him and Lori, and additional medical expenses outside of what his insurance is covering. Several folks have asked me how they can support Andrew and his family from afar, and this is the opportunity for the people who love him and his family to chip in and support them financially as they go forward with the next step of this battle.

As you know, us Warfs are extremely competitive and my brother has and will continue to fight this cancer. Your support will go a long way supporting his family and keep the hope alive. It’s time for us to come together and take down this disease!
