Andrew's efforts towards helping the IMNDA last June

When Andrew Brennan supported the Ice Bucket Challenge in 2014, he never for a moment imagined that he himself would be diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease just a short year later.
2015 was the year that this young family man received this devastating and crushing blow. At just 31 years of age, he was father to two little girls under the age of 2 - life was just beginning.
Many of you have seen or read his story recently; Andrew bravely fronted a very successful media campaign to raise awareness for MND/ALS. He worked with the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association to share his story on TV, radio and online. A huge €150,000 was raised nationally for the IMNDA.
Motor Neurone Disease is progressive, incurable and terminal, a truly devastating condition, leaving patients unable to walk, talk and eventually breathe. To witness a person suffering from MND and watch their daily struggle as their body literally gives up on them bit by bit, is truly heartbreaking.
Andrew, a lithographic web printer by trade for 15 years, was forced to retire due to the cruel nature of the disease; his wife Yvonne has given up work to care for him during his illness.
We have been asked by many people wishing to help Andrew and his family, to set up a fundraising page for donations. There are many things that can assist patients with MND/ALS to hold on to their independence as they progress through their journey; mobility aids, car modifications, increasing care and support. Adaptations have already been made to Andrew's home to assist with his changing needs - at a very substantial cost.
All donations, thoughts and prayers are very much appreciated and will go towards helping Andrew to fight MND, stay as independent as he can, and to enjoy as much time as possible making memories with his young family.
