Andrew's childhood dream: NASA Astronaut
Donation protected
Hello. Andrew was recently diagnosed with Appendiceal Adenocarcinoma on 12/1/21. This very rare cancer occurs in less than 1 out of 1 million people per year. Andrew has worked his entire life to fulfill his childhood dream of becoming a NASA astronaut. He's currently employed at NASA as a Spartan Flight Controller for the International Space Station at Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX.
Due to his recent diagnosis, his dreams have shifted from becoming an astronaut to greeting every day with gratitude and thankfulness. Andrew has already faced several medical procedures, tests, and surgery at MD Anderson Cancer Center. He has another major surgery coming up in a few weeks that takes between 7-10 hours.
He was told by his doctors to put together a 3 month "bucket list" and concentrate on that. Andrew shared with us over Christmas, that although the cancer has taken his life in a new direction, it won't take away his dreams. He mentioned that he wants to go to Disney World and stay at Star Wars; Galaxy's Edge. He shared that he's unsure if he'll get to become a NASA astronaut, but he can still go to space on the Millennium Falcon. This fund will help him fulfill that dream.
He doesn't know about this fund. Thank you for reading this and may 2022 bring you and your loved ones good health and peace.
