The Liver Saga Continues...
(Still) Waiting for Liver #2
As many of you already know, Andrew's first liver transplant (July 2017) turned out to not work so great. The biliary system of the liver he received had suffered some damage that basically made it unable to function properly. Andrew was relisted for transplant #2 in October of 2017.
Andrew has been working as much as he is able to, but has essentially been unable to work full time since May of 2017. He has been in and out of the hospital several times with infections, some bleeding, and other complications that have come up in dealing with his not-so-spectacular liver until the next one comes along.
In the meantime, Andrew and Tammy decided to get married on April 28th!!!! It was a wonderful day, and we are so excited for Andrew to get a new liver and feel good so that they can truly enjoy being newlyweds.
As I write this on May 10th, Andrew has been on the transplant list for liver #2 for 7 months. We are all trying to keep Andrew comfortable and are so anxious for that call.
We are so thankful for all of the support you have already shown Andrew, Tammy, and our whole family. You've helped us to ease the financial burden this has brought so that we can all focus mainly on making sure that Andrew feels as good as he can while he waits for that perfect liver.
Any continued support you'd like to offer Andrew and Tammy is greatly appreciated.
Your support will go towards:
-Another year's out of pocket max for insurance
-All of the prescriptions Andrew has due to his new liver and the complications from it (ugh)
-Costs for food and parking for any of those times Andrew's liver sends him to the hospital
-Continued living expenses while Andrew is not able to work full time.
Thank you all SO much for all of the love and support, it has meant more to us than you will ever truly know.
