Stand w/Andrew: Prosthetic Leg Fund

Andrew Abrams is generous, inspiring, warm-hearted, selfless, talented, artistic, helpful, and caring. These are just a few of the words to describe the wonderful spirit that Andrew is. Andrew is also a current student at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. On November 1, 2017, he stepped outside of the dorms to call his little sister to wish her a Happy Birthday and then experienced the tragically unexpected. Andrew was victimized by a devastating armed robbery that resulted in him being shot in his upper body. He was rushed to the trauma center where they described him condition as, "critical, he nearly lost his life”. At the young age of 22, surgeons worked relentlessly for 11 + hours to save his life. Regrettably, Andrew’s injuries resulted in him losing his leg and after nearly eight more surgeries, he also lost a kidney. Nevertheless, Andrew is alive and we are so very grateful for his strength and the talented surgeons at Grady Memorial Hospital.
It’s very hard to believe that someone as full of love and life as Andrew is could be subjected to such a senseless and life altering experience.
A long rehabilitation process is required internally, as well as externally. Andrew's wish is to make a full recovery. We are confident Andrew will do so. With rehabilitation, we hope that he will fearlessly conquer the challenges that his altered physical appearance poses and ultimately, return to living his life to the fullest. The pictures above are from Andrews favorite past time-mentoring youth both in Oakland, CA. and Atlanta, GA.
Andrew’s hope is to receive enough financial assistance to cover the cost of past and future medical expenses and the cost of a robotic prosthetic, the next generation of bionic limbs: https://youtu.be/CDsNZJTWw0w?t=8m8s
We thank you in advance for your much-needed love and generous support during this very difficult time.
