With a deep sense of loss I set up this page for my beloved brother Andy - Andrew, or Drew as he was known to many. Drew died early this morning, November 7, 2019 of an apparent heart attack.
Andy had been suffering for many years. We were all so concerned about him and wondered what we could do to provide help without judgement. Things seemed quite hopeless.
Then, one day, one of Andy's friends reached out to us and offered to talk to Andy about seeking help. We enthusiastically agreed and he talked to Andy about seeking help and support. This friend offered the kind of support and encouragement to Andy that sometimes family can't; the kind of support only a friend could give to get him in motion.
Miraculously, something changed and Andy sought help and finally started to turn things around for himself. We were all very encouraged by Andy's new found commitment to restoring his health and well-being. We had just had dinner with him the other night and he was very happy about a new job and happy to be a new uncle.
All of these positive developments just make it all the more difficult to accept his premature departure from our circle. We are so shocked and saddened as are many who knew "Drew." As we began making difficult calls to his close friends, we were surprised at the outpouring of support and offers for financial assistance to help my mother and take care of Drew's final expenses.
We deeply appreciate these kind wishes and gestures of support. This page was set up as a way to honor these wishes and offers, Any funds collected will go towards handling Drew's final expenses.
As a family, we thank you so much for your friendships with Drew over the years. As his brother, I knew he would always do his best to help me if he could; and he did on many occasions, without hesitation. I'm sure many of you felt the same.
We'll miss you brother.
