Andrew Nguyen Memorial Fund
Don protégé
Andrew had just recently turned 16 years old when he lost his battle with cancer. With the support of his family, friends, and school staff, Andrew continued his efforts to learn, interact, and charm all who knew him during his hard fought battle. There are many stories that I would love to share but I want to share a story from his 6th-grade teacher:
When I held his first IEP meeting after he transferred to Lawrence, we got to the section on "Health". Mom started to tell us about his previous health history with the brain tumor and cancer. She became teary eyed and started to cry. Andrew quickly placed his small hand on top of hers and told her "Don't cry. I'm good now mom". Then he proceeded to tell us about his health, so mom wouldn't have to do it.”
I wanted to share this story because it beautifully describes Andrew- a sweet boy with a kind heart, patient personality with an incredible spirit. His mother's wish was for people to remember him, to not forget. I can speak for everyone that knew Andrew- he will never be forgotten, he will forever have a place in our hearts.
We are kindly asking you to donate to help ease the financial burden no parent should ever have to endure. This fund is set up to cover their medical bills, the funeral costs, and any other expenses related to the loss of Andrew.
Thank you,

Andrew was a huge fan of the Lakers--Andrew will be with us with every Lakers game watched. Always.
