Last week , Andrew Neale a very popular Preston lad who has done so much for the LGBT community and has helped so many of us out over the years. And still continues to help others now
Has Sadly lost his Dad Clive Neale to Covid19.
Andrew got a one-way ticket to S.E Asia in 2018 to go live on a farm, to Enjoy his life and live his life which is what we all should do in life. Andrew is now teaching English to local community members.
On hearing the news about his father last week, he went to the airport and boarded the most appropriate flight which included a layover in Frankfurt. Here, as he was about to start the final leg of his journey, an email came through showing he had also tested positive for Covid in a quick test he’d done a few hours earlier.
Instead of continuing to board like others might have done, he handed himself into the local police, not wanting to put others on the plane to Manchester at risk.
He has since been transferred to a State Quarantine Hotel in Frankfurt costing 170 euros a night - where he must stay for 14 nights. At the end of this stay, he’ll pay another 260 euros for another Covid test and, if that comes back negative, then he’ll pay for the remainder of his journey home.
If this test comes back positive again, he’ll not be allowed to leave Germany and must start the 14 day procedure all over again.
The insurance he has only covers for serious illness meaning none of the above is covered sadly.
This page is being set up to act of kindness and a central pot so loved ones, friends, bus drivers, former Hangout Harry customers, anyone… can maybe help get Andrew home safely, quickly and comfortably, for his father’s funeral, during this already-challenging heartbreaking time.
