Andrew Le's fight against Leukemia
Donation protected
In February 2022 our dear friend, colleague, doctor and coach, Andrew Le, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). He was immediately hospitalized at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital for further evaluation and to begin treatment. Testing revealed that Andrew has a very aggressive subtype of ALL known as Philadelphia-chromosome positive, which requires a specific chemotherapy regimen and treatment plan. After a month long stay at Penn he was discharged but will need to return for ongoing treatment on an inpatient and outpatient basis. The hope is that Andrew will eventually be able to undergo a bone marrow transplant, which will require an extensive hospital stay because of the high risk of complications. The bone marrow transplant will give Andrew the best chance of beating this cancer. All things considered, there will be a long road ahead for him.
Andrew has been unable to work since his diagnosis. This has been very difficult for him not only because of the joy he gets from helping his patients and athletes but also because of the enormous toll this has taken on his financial stability and future. Medical bills for his treatment and hospital stays have already begun to add up at an overwhelming rate.
This will be a difficult journey for Andrew and his family, and we are hoping to help with the financial burden in any way we can. This GoFundMe is to help cover the cost of cancer treatment and rehabilitation. It will also ease the stress of life expenses and bridge the gap between treatment, recovery and returning to work. Any donation big or small, and all thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated. Please share with all that have been touched by Andrew and his story.
