COACH LEE ANDREW FUNDRAISER

To those who have had the privilege and experience of knowing Coach Andrew Lee Cration...

It is with the utmost of heavy hearts that we are letting friends know that Coach Lee is currently on life support at Tarzana Providence Hospital in Los Angeles.  He is surrounded by the love of his life Vilma Ekonomo, his mother, brothers and sisters. 

His love of basketball was off the charts.  He once said "basketball is my LIFE" and that he doesn't know what he would do without it.  He loved coaching so much and impacted hundreds of kids' futures in youth basketball.  At his healthiest, he was a passionate, hard nosed, hard working mentor who got the best performances out of the kids he was able to coach.  He loved kids' success stories, finding the next big name in youth basketball and making sure the kids who deserved a chance at success got one.  Coach Lee also loved to put in his two cents about kids who should probably “retire”, kids who would be “pros" and kids who simply deserved more opportunity than they were getting.  He also talked a lot about what he valued most in his teaching and coaching experiences which was to surround himself with good people at all times.

Let it be known that as a youth player, Coach Lee was cold as ice with the basketball.  He was the smallest guy on the court but was the fastest, most talented ball handler.  His name still rests at his high school for being the talented youth player he was.

Coach Lee was born in Los Angeles and is one of seven children.  He has a son, a daughter and three stepchildren.
