Andrew (Koro) Koritnik Memorial Fund
Donation protected
On July 2nd, 2023, Andrew (Koro) Koritnik was admitted to Trinity St. Joseph Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan for weakness on the right side of his body. A generally healthy 41-year-old male, Andrew was diagnosed with an aggressive brain cancer, glioblastoma, a few days later. Due to the location of the tumor and its aggressive nature, he and his family made the difficult decision not to pursue treatment. On July 11th Andrew went home for in-house hospice care. Sadly Andrew lost his battle with cancer on July 27th.
Andrew’s caring nature transcends human expectations. He is fiercely loyal to his family (especially his wife, Kristen) and friends and always willing to lend a helping hand, never asking for anything in return. He is an incredibly gifted problem solver, a trait that fueled his career in engineering and enabled he and Kristen to have a strongly independent life together. His enthusiasm and energy are infectious, fueling his many lifelong friendships and bringing together people from all aspects of his life.
A graduate of Michigan Tech University, Andrew fell in love with the school and the region he briefly called home: the Keeweenaw. There, he cultivated his passion for cars into a career in the automotive industry and one of his favorite hobbies, off-roading. He continued to regularly visit the area, and even proposed to Kristen in one of his favorite spots. Andrew had expressed a desire to give back to the school and region in the form of a donation, and his family would like to make good on that desire by purchasing a personalized memorial bench at Michigan Tech’s Alumni Way.
If you wish to show your appreciation for Andrew, please consider contributing to this fundraiser. Andrew will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
