The Gift of Music for Andrew

We are raising funds to support Andrew in his recovery from a serious accident.

On July 30th 2024, our dear Andrew was hit by a car that did not give way to him on his pushbike. Andrew was (and is) seriously injured to his legs and pelvis with multiple fractures and other complications. His hospitalisation and recovery will take many months while he undergoes surgeries, treatment, and rehabilitation in learning how to walk and move naturally again. The traumatic impact of the accident on his body and psyche is profound, and we want to gather our resources together to be a force of healing for him.

We would love to give Andrew something beautiful as an act of love and remedy to help him in his recovery. Andrew has a musical soul and is an intuitive and talented guitarist. He has been dreaming about owning a twelve-string acoustic guitar for many years, but has not had the funds to indulge himself with this gift. The therapeutic benefits of giving a musical instrument to Andrew while in rehab, will be life-changing.

Many of you have asked what you can do to support Andrew during this extremely difficult time, and we have put our heads together and realised that it would mean so much to Andrew to be given a guitar from all of us, his family, friends, colleagues, students, and loved ones. If there are funds left over after the purchase of the guitar, then they will go towards Andrew's family's domestic, schooling, and transport expenses, including flights and transport for his support crew.
