Andrew Fisher's several needed eye surgeries

My son Andrew Fisher has had Type 1 diabetes since he was 11 years old. He has taken good care of his health for all these years. Last year, his employer changed hands, and Andrew was no longer able to keep health insurance. Since then, he has not been able to see his doctors regularly. He tried to get health insurance, even paying for it, only to find that it was a scam. Last month, he started having difficulty seeing. He went to an eye specialist, and they said it was urgent that he get surgery, or lose his eyesight permanently.

This first surgery alone is $16,000. He will need more after this one.
