Half Marathon for Mr Hirst

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Tommy Harris & I am running the Movember Nottingham Half Marathon in support of Andrew (my secondary school graphics teacher), who has been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer.

Andrew was diagnosed nearly a year ago (at 35 years old) with grade 4 glioblastoma, a terminal brain cancer. He desperately needs support to access lifesaving immunotherapy and hyperthermy treatment, which could give him more valuable time with his family. He has a wonderful wife, and three young children of ages 3,6,10.

Only 5% of people make it past a year, and November brings him to that year mark. He’s currently receiving treatment in Germany once a month to prolong. We’ve spoken at length plenty & I am humbled by his fighting spirit.

This man supported me in school when times got tough, both personally & academically. He was the teacher to turn to, and actually taught me product design (which led to the business I’m in today). He even came to my house to teach when I couldn’t attend. A man that went far beyond his responsibilities, I owe him an awful lot.

Andrew is a role model that became my friend, and this is my effort to have his back when he needs support, like he did for me.
