On their way back from a Halloween party on Saturday, October 22, 2016, Nicholai (9) and Nehemiah (8) Bird were killed and their sister, Nina (7), critically injured in a car accident in Nassau County, Florida. Parents Andrew and Sara Bird made an emergency trip Sunday to Florida to be with Nina during her recovery and make arrangements for the return of their sons to Michigan. In addition to travel costs, funds will be needed for the continued care of Nina and for the burial costs of the boys. Andrew works for Life EMS of Newaygo County, and Sara is a Newaygo County 911 Dispatcher.
In addition, both Andrew and Sara are committed to the community by serving as firefighters on the Newaygo Fire Department. Both have dedicated their lives to helping others in their time of need, and now they need our help. Due to the urgency of their needs as a result of this horrific event, any immediate monetary assistance would be greatly appreciated. The unimaginable has happened to our emergency responders, and our hearts go out to them as they grieve and deal with the future.
