Andres's Educational Needs

Hi, my name is Ines Acosta I am organizing this fundraiser to help my daughter Lizeth Garcia with financial needs required to help her son with his learning needs. Below is my daughter's story as she presents it. Thank you in advance for your caring and life changing support.

My 10 year old son, Andres, has recently been diagnosed with Dyslexia. He’s currently in 5th grade and is such an amazing, smart young boy. Andres has such a caring and sweet soul, and he is always there for his friends and loved ones in every way he possibly can. Andres is now at an age where he recognizes some of the difficulties he has been having when it comes to learning. I knew he needed greater support, so I contacted schools that specialize in learning differences. He was able to visit the Charles Armstrong School, a unique school focused on learning needs. Within just a few days of being there, Andres came home expressing how much he loved it (made friends right away!), how comfortable he felt, and most importantly his confidence in himself grew knowing that there are other kids that share similar learning needs. Andres realizes he is not less than others, but rather, learns in a different way that is best for him. Andres is so excited to go to a school that can really make a difference for his learning, and knows that support at this time will impact his future education and career opportunities. His desire to learn and grow is such an amazing thing to watch, and it motivates me to give him the best I can.

Andres has recently been accepted into the Charles Armstrong School. While I was able to qualify for

50% tuition assistance, I still need to cover what’s left of the yearly tuition, $28,000, due by February of 2022. My goal is to be able to provide the best that I can for Andres. I am currently a student at Cañada college, working a full-time job as a medical assistant, while providing for Andres and his little brother as a single parent. I’m wondering if you might have ideas about how or who might help us raise donations to support my son, Andres, to attend this school for his learning needs.
