Help Baby Andre Get Lifesaving Heart Surgery*

My name is Mrs Mercy Nwokocha and I am writing this with a heart full of hope and urgency. I am the aunt of Andre Maro Ekwerugbe, a beautiful baby boy who was born on March 26, 2025 to my baby sister just a few weeks ago.

But since birth, Andre has been fighting for his life.

He was diagnosed with a rare and serious congenital heart condition called *Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA).* In simple terms, his heart has multiple defects that make it extremely difficult for blood to flow properly from his heart to his lungs, depriving his body of the oxygen it desperately needs.

At only 2.8kg and just days old, Andre is already experiencing severe cyanosis—a condition where the skin turns bluish due to low oxygen levels. His oxygen saturation is dangerously low at 74%, and doctors have confirmed he urgently needs a BT Shunt Surgery, which is the first critical step to stabilize his heart and save his life.

This surgery needs to happen immediately, and it comes at a high cost of $9,523.81 (15 million Naira) As a family, we are doing all we can, but we cannot meet this financial burden alone.
