Andreck Family of Botswana

Hi! My name is Colette McKillop and I am raising funds for the Ditsaro Andreck Family. Ditsaro works as a manager a Safari Camp in the Moremi Game Reserve, Okavango Delta, Botswana, Africa. Ditsara works long hours for months on end. It’s a demanding job and as a manager he is responsible for the guests around the clock, not only for hospitality, but enjoyment and overall safety. Ditsaro and his wife are starting their own business in the Village of Ikoga, Botswana so he could then be closer to his wife and children and be more of a family. As a manager Ditsaro is away from home for 3 months at a time and must stay at the Safaris Camps before he gets 2 week leave to go home. Although it is good employment for him it's difficult for his wife and children to be without their Husband and Father. Ditsaro (Andy) is a wonderful man, we got to know him very well while staying in the camp and have been keeping in touch online! We would love to see him succeed in this venture. Andy and his family have been working on this project for almost a year - he saves and then buys some material and supplies and has to stop and save again. It's really a labor of love for them and I am caught up in their entrepreneurial spirit and dreams!

This store would also be fantastic for the small community of Ikoga as residents of the area have to travel over 30 miles to purchase groceries etc. Which is nothing for us here in Canada, but without transportation almost impossible to walk to on a daily basis! - Journeys for supplies could be a 2 day affair!
