Andrea's second base battle
Donation protected
And though she may be small, she is fierce.
If you know Andrea, then you know this is her to a "T".
She is a mother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, teammate, coach and friend to many.
Of course, you also know how beautiful, smart, witty, sarcastic, spirited, stubborn, brutally honest, funny and caring she is !
On January 20th, 2021, Andrea underwent a biopsy and within days was given a diagnosis of Invasive Ductal Carcenoma. On February 18th, she underwent a lupectomy and all things considered, the news of her results March 5th, was good. The doctor determined that her margins are clear (they removed it all) but some has spread to 2 of 3 lymph nodes. Although this means no more surgeries, the next step in this fork in the road is an aggressive treatment plan of chemotherapy, followed by radiation.
Let's all come together and make this battle less challenging for Andrea. She has remained positive and her strengh has been astounding despite being thrown this unexpected diagnosis.
This fund was created in an effort to help alleviate some stress and allow Andrea to focus on her path to wellness. Your donations will be put to good use in purchasing wholesome foods, covering the cost of unforseen medical expenses, medications not covered by insurance and amongst other things, parking fees at the hospital. Please help lessen any financial burdens she may have to navigate as she deals with her physical and emotional recovery.
As you know, Andrea is a mother of 2 amazing teens, Owen and Emy. They need Andrea in good health to support them throughout their lives as they navigate their own obstacles, and reach their own milestones.
We got this !
Any remaining funds will be donated to the Breast Cancer Society of Canada.
