Pietro Pessôa Paixão, a 16-year-old boy and son of Andreia and Odair, was born healthy. But at the age of 9, he began showing signs of muscle coordination loss. Over time, his condition worsened drastically. Today, he can barely walk, struggles to maintain balance, and has difficulty controlling the movements of his hands.

The cause of this disorder remains unknown, even after years of extensive testing at some of the best hospitals in the United States, including:

Pietro has undergone genetic testing, CT scans, MRIs, electrodiagnostic tests, and seen various specialists such as:

But unfortunately, no conclusive diagnosis has been found.

In early 2025, we met Dr. Alexander Rodriguez Rimassa, a surgeon specialized in spastic neuropathies. He recommended a groundbreaking, minimally invasive multi-level procedure called RODBLAN.
