Dear Family and Friends,
As many of you know, I took a leap of faith a few years ago, leaving my career as a research scientist to become a teacher’s assistant to pursue my lifelong dream of becoming a physician. It was one of the scariest decisions I’ve ever made, but it has also been the most rewarding. Now, as a non-traditional medical student going into my third year preparing for clinical rotations, I am closer than ever to becoming the doctor I’ve always envisioned.
I have funded this entire journey on my own through personal loans and every resource I could find. I’ve worked hard, pushed forward, and made it this far despite every obstacle. But today, I’m facing a challenge that I can’t overcome alone. Due to financial limitations, I am at risk of being dismissed from school—not because of academics or effort, but simply because I can no longer shoulder the mounting costs on my own.
I am 100% committed to seeing this journey through. I can clearly picture myself practicing in family medicine, where I can see patients from zero to 99 years old and women’s health. Where I can influence policy, education, and culture. Fully using my training to make an impact and uplift others. I have come too far to give up now.
This is why I am reaching out to you—my family, my friends, my support system. If you are able, I’m asking for your help to get me through this last year of medical school. Any contribution, no matter the size, $5 - $25, will bring me one step closer to crossing the finish line and becoming the physician I’ve worked so hard to become.
This donation wouldn't just support education, but it would genuinely change the direction of my career. Thank you for your love, your encouragement, and your belief in me. It means more than I can put into words.
With gratitude,
Andrea
