**** Latest update 5/16/2025.
The chemo is working and the cancer is reduced, but still showing in her breast, spine, arm and shoulder. Unfortunately the chemo has to be paused to address a bleeding issue caused by cervical fibroids. She is now continuing with an oral chemo and transfusions while waiting for enough funds for the cervix to be removed. Medicaid has declined to cover this so $8,400 has to come out of pocket.
Here's an overview of the full treatment and cost!
TREATMENT AND COST
Her Initial Treatment Plan:
- Diagnosis: Triple Negative Metastatic stage 4 as it has spread to her lymph nodes and right arm.
- Treatment: Currently in Chemo- every 21 days, 8 rounds (Doxorubicin and Keytruda) and a daily parp inhibitor called Lynparza. February will start radiation for 5 weeks with immunotherapy to follow and possibly more chemo.
- Goal: Raise $10,000 to cover the 2025 deductible by January 2025 – We met this!
Here’s what has happened since then:
Diagnosis:
- Triple Negative Metastatic stage 4 since the cancer has spread to her lymph nodes, and right arm. Since then, it’s moved into her spine and right shoulder.
- Since treatment started it was discovered that Andrea also had, afib which required a heart ablation in January and now has cervical fibroids and endometriosis which has causes thrombocytopenia.
Treatment (with cost):
- Chemo recommended Doxorubicin/paclitaxel/carboplatin and Keytruda. 10 rounds (9 left), will discuss radiation after chemo. All of this has been put on hold until the platelet count rises. (covered from the $10,000 raised last year)
- Oral Chemo (Xeloda) until infusions can resume ($801)
- Cervix removal ($8,400)
