Hey all!
I have just over a week left of my twenties (eek!), and I had originally intended to run my third marathon by age 30. Then, well you know what happened next... all events that involved large groups got canceled for the foreseeable future. Definitely including marathons.
SO, instead, I decided it would be even better to do something I had never done before -- run the longest distance I've ever run, 30 miles! And so, #30for30 was born. This coming Saturday, June 20, I will be running 30 miles around Chicago, following a route to pass by all the meaningful places this city has shared with me over the past 8 years.
I'm also hoping to use this run as a way to raise money for a really great organization, whose mission I wholeheartedly believe in: the PhD Project. The PhD Project was founded in 1994 with the belief that "advancements in workplace diversity could be propelled forward by increasing the diversity of business school faculty."
I'm thrilled to do this #30for30 run, and I'm thrilled to run for such a great organization. If you or anyone you know would be willing to donate on my behalf (every little bit makes a big difference!), it would mean so much to me -- and to the amazing folks at the PhD Project!
Nick has graciously volunteered to accompany me on bike with snacks, water, and tunes -- thanks, Nick! My tentative route is linked here for those who want to follow along on Saturday :)
Hope you can follow along -- virtually or in-person! :)
xoxo,
Andrea
