Dear friends,
Our family needs your help! Last Sunday, my Aunt Andrea Quinn Golden fell very, very ill and is in critical condition with multiple organ failure as a result of a serious kidney infection. As she fights for her life, we have just learned that she also has a large mass in her abdomen that the doctors assume is lymphoma. The lymphoma is something that cannot even be addressed until her organs repair and she comes out of ICU. We all hope and pray that my Aunt Andrea will pull through and we are remaining optimistic but her recovery is questionable and will be very long at best.
As you all know, she formally adopted her twin grandsons at 11 months old after the tragic death of her only son and has been their sole provider for the last 11 years. Her health and presence in their lives has been imperative. She also cares for her 28 year old special needs child, Amber, who loves and adores her. There are some amazing people in our lives who have helped to calm and care for the children at this difficult time and attempting to keep them in their regular routine, but there is nothing regular about their routine without my Aunt Andrea in it.
In her absence, Andrea's eldest daughter, my cousin Stacy Clark has taken over in caring for the twins and Amber in addition to her own 2 children. Stacy currently lives in Orange but will need to relocate to Lake Elsinore to care for the family indefinitely, and hopefully Andrea as she enters her long recovery.
Stacy is one of the strongest people I know. There has been no hesitation on her part to jump in and take care of all of the children. Her amazing work colleagues in Orange have graciously donated their own paid time off to Stacy for the last week in order for her to be able to be in Lake Elsinore at the hospital all day and with the kids at night. I know she will be able to handle all of what comes her way and for all of the needs of the children but she will continue to need our help.
My request is twofold:
If anyone knows of a 5 bedroom home in the area that is available, please let us know! This will allow the family to live together under one roof. If someone is willing to rent at a reduced rate, that would help tremendously.
Equally as important, we are seeking help financially from you. With all the medical bills that will begin to mount, along with the everyday necessities of life for the children, not to mention moving costs, we really need help from our family, friends, and community.
Please pray for Andrea's recovery and these precious young children whose family has already been part of so much tragic loss in their lives.
We thank you so much!!!
